Gracious Loss
from Hearken
Snowflakes tumbling
into silence
like tears
hoping enough
pile up
to be noticed
or join a blizzard
Belonging is stronger
than avoiding destruction.
Problems fly
like shingles from a roof
in a hurricane.
f you stand against the wind it will blow or subside seeking not to win nor to lose it has no battle with you.
The Willow tree bends
letting the storm pass,
handing over its leaves and small branches to the raging wind.
Sometimes we lose graciously.
The roots remain
deep and secure,
unaware of the turbulence.
